Convert a former newspaper-printing building in Tulsa's East Village/Blue Dome fringe into a modern brewery, taproom, and taqueria — one that could support both an all-ages, laid-back daily hangout and a larger outdoor event/live-music venue.

The site sits in a former industrial pocket on the east edge of downtown: an existing single-story industrial shell not built for public gathering, with no built-in outdoor amenity, while the brand needed both an intimate indoor taproom feel and a large-capacity outdoor "Yard" with skyline views — two very different programs on one lot.

//Design Move

The design preserves the industrial bones of the printing building — exposed structure, clear sightlines to the working brewhouse — while opening the site's west-facing edge outward into "The Yard": a lawn, firepit, stage, and patio oriented to capture downtown Tulsa's skyline at sunset. Indoors, simple material choices (blonde wood tables, a long communal bar, big open sightlines) keep the taproom flexible for everything from remote work by day to live shows by night.

//Result

A dual-mode venue: a casual, pet- and family-friendly taproom for daily coffee-shop-style hangs and happy hour, and a full-scale outdoor stage/event lawn for concerts and community nights — all anchored by a visible working brewery that keeps the building's industrial identity legible rather than hidden.
